Course Overview
This qualification also suits current workers within the Community Services Sector who may be looking to make a career change or already have a background in working in other community or health services areas and wish to expand their skillset.
The student may have volunteered/worked in the sector and is wanting to formalise their existing knowledge and skills as well as address any gaps they may currently have to complete the qualification. The student must be over the age of 18 years and possess a passion for working in the Community Services Industry.
Individuals, depending on their experience may complete this qualification in a shorter time frame based on the length of experience they have within the Community Services Industry and any past study they have completed in another Community Service-related qualification.

Austral College will require all students to meet the following requirements:

Be over 18 years of age at time of commencement of this course

Complete an Enrolment Form

Provide identification documents, including a photo

Successful completion of Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment

Complete a Pre-Training Review (PTR)

Obtain Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Computer Literacy

Ability to obtain a Police Check (note, if a Police Check has a previous conviction, discussion is required with the Trainer/Assessor and Work Placement Coordinator before enrolling in this course as placement and work outcomes may be restricted)

Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check (note, if the student is unable to obtain a Working With Children Check a discussion is required with the Trainer/Assessor and Work placement Coordinator before enrolling in this course as placement and work outcomes may be restricted)

Due to the physical requirements of this course, students must have an adequate level of fitness allowing them to work standing up for extended periods of time, during work placement shifts.
